"External Trade and Investment Law" examines in an introductory manner, the principles underlying the conduct of trade and investment from global, international and regional perspectives. In so doing, the book has been divided into four parts: The first part covers the World trading system; The second part discusses some of the major financing instruments used in international trade today; The third part examines the legal aspects of international sales; The last part deals with foreign investment law.The directional context of the book is set upon the emerging trends in trade and economic globalisation. The rapid pace of globalisation in trade and services means that the hitherto vast distances between nations and peoples are now shrinking due to improvements in communication and transport. The South Pacific region is no more an isolated part of the global economy. This book therefore commends itself to any seeker of knowledge whose aim is to achieve a basic and modest understanding of international trade and investment law, especially as it concerns the Island Countries in the South Pacific.
